The game’s team didn’t manage gamers expectations very well and led the rabid-fan segment to believe there’d be much more to the game. The M3 Stuart from China is now elited and also my best “Spotter” having gotten two games in a row with the special medal. (But it does help….) Instead, taking advantage of the new log in and get credits feature (50,000 per day!) makes me happy to move forward towards the usual holding amount of 8 million credits (just 400,000 to go), and I get in a match or three before logging off. You don’t HAVE to play the game like a completely obsessed ADHD-driven teenager with Aspbergers. I was frustrated enough that I found myself playing additional games instead. Getting to this point took almost a week. The survivors managed to slowly work their way across the map and wipe out the aliens. Squatting down, he barely has time to react before finding out there were three Lizards standing next to each other, as the survivor clips him and he knows no more. The second Lizard he’d spotted was taken down by his squadmates as the covered him.

As he slipped the full auto clip for his rifle to “on”, he spotted a second Lizard and his anxiety increased he ran past the bastard as he emptied his clip into the beastie, dropping it with a death rattle. Matt Damon sprinted through the streets of Panama to spot the Lizards and take one out. I finally got a decent start and managed to lose a single squaddie – only the third guy killed in the game. Sebilisians shoot us to death, leaving the last two guys cowering under cover – where the Reapers found them and ate them. Maybe I should go this way instead ? Reapers wipe me out. Go one way, and the Reapers eat your squad and wipe you out. Thanks to being on easy mode and having the ability to save and reload, I managed to get through this one after perhaps a dozen false starts. Then the Terror mission hit me in Panama City. They do not have good gear, given that everything I’m making takes forever and goes to the African crew but they were started on moving up the ladder in ranks and abilities. I decided to add another dropship, so I bought a Charlie and enough recruits in North America to crew it up. I have several countries at maximum funding, along with four bases each having four interception aircraft. Aside from being stronger, the Scimitar operates just as the Hunter would.Xenonauts game continues and has reached February 1980. The Scimitar has more action points and better armour, giving it greater survivability on the battlefield.
The Scimitar is the next step up from the Hunter, and is where support vehicles begin to shine. Because of this, support vehicles suddenly become more viable. By the time the Scimitar is available you should have access to a superior dropship and have a good selection of high rank soldiers. The biggest drawback to the usage of a support vehicle is that it takes two soldiers spots, meaning you have fewer soldiers on the field. Secondly, the fact that one of your units is a lump of inert metal (albeit an expensive one) rather than a living and breathing human being may make battlefield decisions a little easier for you. Given that vehicles are large targets on the battlefield, this added durability is extremely valuable.

Removal of the driver has two chief advantages - the first is that the removal of the crew compartment and the ventilation systems leaves space for additional armour, naturally itself also constructed from alien materials. Unsuprisingly, our tests so far suggest I have done an excellent job setting everything up. I personally fitted signal boosters to our dropships that allow a driver to control the vehicle as if he were inside it, despite potentially being thousands of miles away. Semi-intelligent alien electronics inside the vehicle handle many of the simpler tasks usually performed by the driver, allowing us to situate the vehicle pilot safely within a control facility back at base. Instead, this space houses a complex array of cameras / sensors. The turret weapon draws power directly from the reactor, eliminating the need for any ammunition storage areas in the turret. The chassis of the Scimitar is squat but sturdy, giving the vehicle a low profile and providing ample space for the vehicle's powerplant - the ER-4 Alenium Impulsion reactor, a downscaled version of the Corsair's ER-3 reactor. It is considerably tougher than its predecessor and is armed with a powerful integrated Pulse Laser (which can be upgraded in future if we develop better weapons). It is slower than the Hunter scout car, but is a much more capable combatant. My team have finished work on the VH-2 Scimitar, a remotely-piloted battlefield vehicle designed to provide close support to our strike teams.
